What food photography really costs in Dubai in 2026 — hourly, half-day, per-dish and menu-package rates in AED, what drives the price, and how to budget.
Updated August 2026. “How much does food photography cost in Dubai?” is the question every restaurant, café and F&B brand asks first — and almost no photographer answers in public. Here are the real numbers: typical Dubai market rates, what actually moves the price, and how to budget whether you run a cloud kitchen or a hotel restaurant.
Dubai food photography rates at a glance (2026)
Compiled from publicly listed rates of Dubai studios and photographers, August 2026:
- Hourly rate: AED 600 – 1,500
- Half-day shoot (3–4 hours): AED 1,500 – 3,500
- Full-day shoot: AED 3,500 – 8,000
- Restaurant menu package (styling + retouching): AED 2,500 – 6,000
- Per-dish pricing: roughly AED 75 – 250 per finished image, depending on styling complexity
- Extended usage (advertising, billboards, third-party campaigns): typically +20–50% on the base fee
At My Pinch of Wow, packages start from AED 500 — with per-dish pricing for menu shoots, half-day and full-day options, and food styling included rather than billed as a second service. Every quote is itemised and sent within one working day.
The six things that move the price
- Number of dishes or products. A 12-item café menu and a 60-dish hotel menu are different days (and budgets). Per-dish pricing keeps small menus affordable.
- Food styling. Some photographers shoot what the kitchen sends; a stylist rebuilds each plate for the camera. When the photographer is the stylist, you pay one fee instead of two.
- Location. On-location shoots in your kitchen avoid food transport and keep dishes fresh; travel outside Dubai adds a small fee.
- Deliverables. Print menu, website, social media crops and delivery-app specs (Talabat, Deliveroo, Careem, Noon Food) each need their own exports.
- Usage rights. Using images in your own menus, website and social is normally included; paid advertising or third-party campaigns usually cost more.
- Turnaround. Standard delivery runs about a week; rush delivery for launches or app deadlines is usually possible for a premium.
How to budget, by business type
- Home business or cloud kitchen: start with a compact package covering your 8–12 best sellers — from AED 500 you can already replace phone photos on your delivery listings, where professional images visibly lift order rates.
- Café or restaurant: a half-day menu shoot covering 12–18 hero dishes, refreshed each season, is the standard play. Budget AED 1,500–3,500 at market rates.
- Hotel or chain: full-day shoots with styling direction, consistent lighting across outlets and campaign usage rights — get an itemised custom quote.
- F&B product brand: per-SKU pricing for e-commerce packshots plus styled lifestyle images; combine both in one session to save.
Frequently asked pricing questions
Why do quotes vary so much between photographers?
You are comparing different scopes: with vs without styling, with vs without usage rights, RAW-only vs fully retouched. Always compare itemised quotes — a cheap shoot that skips styling and retouching usually costs more when you reshoot it.
Is a deposit required?
Most Dubai photographers, including us, confirm the date with a deposit and settle the balance on delivery. You will get the exact terms in writing with your quote.
What does “usage rights included” actually mean?
You can use the images in your own marketing — menus, website, social media, delivery apps, in-store — with no recurring licence fees. Third-party advertising or resale is quoted separately.
