Eight cuisines, one visual identity — how My Pinch of Wow photographs pan-Asian menus for Asia Kitchen by Mainland China, from Dubai to Mall of Oman, Muscat.

Client case study. Eight cuisines, one live kitchen, one visual identity — photographing a pan-Asian menu is a consistency problem disguised as a food problem.
Asia Kitchen by Mainland China is the pan-Asian casual-dining brand of Speciality Restaurants — the celebrated Indian restaurant house whose flagship Mainland China brand dates back to 1994. In the Gulf, the brand is operated by Dubai-headquartered Resolute Group, with restaurants at BurJuman and Deira City Centre in Dubai and, since February 2024, at Mall of Oman in Muscat — the brand’s Oman debut. Built around a bustling live kitchen and an Asian street-food spirit, its menu travels the Far East in one sitting: Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, Myanmar and China, from crispy lotus stem and General Tao’s chicken to ramen, nasi goreng and sushi.
A menu that spans eight culinary traditions is a styling minefield. Sushi wants cool precision; a wok dish wants heat, gloss and motion; a bowl of ramen lives on steam and depth. Photographed naively, they end up looking like eight different restaurants. The brief for a brand like this is to honour what makes each cuisine distinct — the props, the plating logic, the colour temperature — while holding one confident visual identity across the whole menu, from dine-in hero shots to the delivery-app tiles where dishes compete pixels apart. (On Talabat Oman, where the Muscat branch held a 4.5/5 rating as of late 2026, those tiles are the storefront.)
My Pinch of Wow photographed for Asia Kitchen as part of the studio’s 200+ brand portfolio, bringing the approach we use for every multi-cuisine menu:
